It has been revealed that the new TV anime "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers," the official sequel to the "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" series, which aired from April 1988 to March 1989, will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, Kansai TV, and BS11 starting January 6, 2026. It will be broadcast in two seasons. "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" is the first new anime in about 35 years since the OVA "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers MESSAGE" released in 1991, and the first TV anime series to be broadcast in about 37 years.
Additional cast members have also been announced, including Toshiki Masuda as Ryusei Oda, a DST member who supports the five Samurai Troopers and acts as an older brother; Lynn as Mirei Aragaki, the self-proclaimed heroine of DST; and Katsuyuki Konishi as the evil emperor, Rashinga Yakuza. It was also announced that Takuya Sato, Kosuke Toriumi, Takuya Sato , Tomokazu Sugita, and Kohei Amasaki Amasaki will play five of the Ten Braves who serve Rashinga: Sasuke, Saizo, Kamanosuke, Tomokazu Sugita , and Isanyudo.
The main visual features the five Samurai Troopers and the evil emperor Rashinga, who appears mysteriously in the dark night. The official promotional video also features DST's Ryusei Oda and Mirei Aragaki, supporting the five Samurai Troopers, as well as the evil Rashinga, Sasuke, Saizo, Kamanosuke, Seikai Nyudo, and Isanyudo. The music unit "blank paper" will perform the opening theme for the first season, "YOAKE," and the popular group "ONE OR EIGHT" will perform the ending theme for the first season, "POWER."
The new work is an entirely original story set in present-day Shinjuku, and will be directed by Yoichi Fujita (who has worked on "Gintama" and " Mr. Osomatsu"), with series composition and scriptwriting by Shogo Muto (who has worked on "Kamen Rider Build," "Crows Zero," and "Thermae Romae"). It will be produced by Sunrise.
"Samurai Troopers" is an anime produced by Sunrise, depicting five boys who possess "Yoroigia" (armored armor) who are brought together by fate to fight against the evil army led by the evil emperor Arago. The TV anime aired from April 1988 to March 1989, and due to its popularity an OVA was also produced. "Samurai Troopers Gaiden" was released in 1989, "Samurai Troopers: Legend of the Bright Emperor" was released from 1989 to 1990, and "Samurai Troopers: Message" was released in 1991. A comic book adaptation by Hoshino Ryuichi was serialized in "Comic Bonbon" (Kodansha).

The earliest Santa gift I can remember is a role-playing toy of Emperor Koukou's "Fiery Fist" from "Samurai Troopers: Armored Troopers." I remember thinking, "Why did I get this when I really wanted the Super Ballistic Series armor?", but I kept playing with it. To me, the Samurai Troopers, emerging from the scattering of cloth and fluttering flower petals with the cry of "Armor!", were just so cool.
