It has been revealed that the theatrical version of Chainsaw Man Chainsaw Man , based on the popular manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto , has grossed over 9.28 billion yen in the 73 days since its release on September 19th. The film has been a huge hit, attracting over 6.05 million viewers and ranking 65th in Japan's all-time box office rankings (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha). It is also generating a lot of excitement in over 100 countries and regions, including South Korea and the United States.
It was also announced that the booklet from the first gift series, "Love, Flowers, Chainsaw Guide," will be redistributed with a different cover from December 6th as the sixth gift for moviegoers. The cover is a newly designed illustration, depicting Denji and Reze carrying their school bags and taking a commemorative photo at their elementary school graduation ceremony in a "what if" world line that asks, "What if Denji and Reze went to the same elementary school...?" Like the first gift, the booklet will include an original four-panel manga by the original author Fujimoto, a behind-the-scenes commentary that reveals some of the original storyboards and rough drafts for the "Reze Arc," as well as the settings and storyboards for the animated film.
" Chainsaw Man" is a dark hero action story that follows Denji, a boy possessed by a demon, as he works as a devil hunter. Part 1 was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from December 2018 to December 2020. Part 2 has been serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +" since July 2022. The total number of copies of the comics published has exceeded 34 million.
The "Reze" arc, which also appeared at the end of the TV anime series that aired from October to December 2022, tells the story of Reze and the main character, Denji, who became a hot topic. While Denji is excited about a date with his crush, Makima, he takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a young girl who works at a cafe. The episode will be directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who served as the action director for the TV anime, and produced by MAPPA.
