It has been announced that the performance of "Tamaki Koji with Kokyo Gakudan 10th Anniversary Concert Tour 2025 ~blue eggplant field," a nationwide tour currently underway by singer Tamaki Koji with his small band "Kyoko Gakudan," to be held at Tokyo Garden Theater (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on November 12th, will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in January 2026.
This popular concert series, in which Tamaki embarks on a musical journey with his hometown orchestra, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. In contrast to the grandeur of the Symphonic Concert Series, which also began in 2015, the appeal of this tour lies in the small-scale Ensemble.
The tour title, "Blue Eggplant Field," is the English translation of the song "Aoi Nasu Batake" (Blue Eggplant Field), from his third solo album, "Kalinto Factory Chimney Above," released in 1993. The lyrics include the word "hometown," which makes you want to read deeper into the concert's intention to return to his roots.
WOWOW has also announced a two-month special program lineup that will include this performance. Titled "Tamaki Koji ~Hometown Orchestra Concert Tour 2015~," the performance held at Tokyo International Forum Hall C (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) on September 6, 2015 will be broadcast and streamed in February 2026. The program will also include footage from Tamaki's hometown of Asahikawa, Hokkaido, which was the final performance location of the 2015 Hometown Orchestra Tour.
