Actress Riho Sayashi attended the production announcement press conference for the musical "Death Note THE MUSICAL" held in Tokyo on Getsuku. Sayashi, who plays the role of Misa Amane, also known as "Misa Misa," in the play, showed off her half-twin hairstyle and a sheer black dress.
Sayashi, who was a member of Morning Musume until 2015, said, "I was an idol myself until 10 years ago, but I was the type of idol who had never stood on stage with pigtails (laughs). I was worried about whether I would be able to do it, and whether I could pull it off, but it was a work I loved, so when I was offered the role I decided I wanted to give it a try."
The press conference was also attended by Kato Seishiro and Watanabe Ao, who play the double cast for the main character Light Yagami, Miura Hiroki, who plays L, Rico from the girl group HUNNY BEE, who plays Yagami Shouyu, Urai Kenji, who plays the Shinigami Ryuk, Hamada Megumi, who plays the Shinigami Rem, and Imai Kiyotaka, who plays Yagami Soichiro.
The musical is based on the popular manga "DEATH NOTE," written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, which was serialized in the manga magazine "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2003 to 2006. It will run from November 24th to December 14th at Tokyo Tatemono Brillia Hall (Toshima Ward, Tokyo), followed by performances in Osaka, Aichi, Fukuoka, and Okayama.
