The latest 51st volume of the manga "Higanjima 48 Days Later..." by Koji Matsumoto, part of the "Higanjima" manga series, will be released on October 6th. This marks the 100th volume in the series, surpassing the milestone some 23 years after the series began in 2002. To commemorate the release of the 100th volume, the manga will be featured on the front page in color in the 44th issue of "Young Magazine" (Kodansha), the magazine in which it is serialized, on September 29th, and will also feature a special one-shot manga.
There will also be a project to give away original illustrations of colored paper. It was also announced that a real-life event, "Escape from the Vampire-Infested Mine," will be held at Mixalive TOKYO (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) from November 20th to 30th. The issue's cover features Enohara Ena, who is the "supernova of the gravure world."
The "Higanjima" series depicts Miyamoto Akira, who visits Higanjima to search for his missing brother and fights vampires. It began serialization in the magazine in 2002. "Higanjima 48 Days Later..." has been serialized in the same magazine since 2014. The first work in the series, "Higanjima," has 33 volumes, and the second work, "Higanjima: The Last 47 Days," has 16 volumes, and the latest volume, 51, of "Higanjima 48 Days Later..." will be the 100th volume.
