It has been announced that TV Asahi's travel program "Junsanpo" (Monday to Friday, 9:55 AM), which began airing on September 28, 2015, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a new theme song and logo. The new theme song is "Once In A Lifetime," written by the popular ska band Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra with the program in mind. The light-hearted sound will add a touch of glamour to the opening of the fun stroll. The logo was designed by Junji Takada himself, a stroller himself, and conveys a warm and fun atmosphere. The new opening with the new theme song and logo will begin airing on September 29.
"Jun Sanpo" is the third installment of TV Asahi's walking series, following the late Takeo Chii's "Chii Sanpo" (April 2006 to May 2012) and Yuzo Kayama's "Young Master's Leisurely Walk" (May 2012 to September 2015). Based on the theme of "One Step, One Encounter," Takada strolls freely through various locations, interacting with the people he meets in his familiar casual style.
The show is running a special 10th anniversary period until the end of the year, with various events planned. On September 29th and 30th, Akira Emoto, Takada's best friend of 50 years who has appeared on the show twice before, will be joining the celebration and taking a hilarious stroll through Ginza, Tokyo.
Higashi Ginza is a town full of memories for Emoto, as he spent his early years there until he was five, and they will visit a Japanese confectionery shop that has a connection to Emoto. They will also enjoy delicious dishes such as the signature "stuffed cabbage" at a long-established Western restaurant that was founded in 1948, the year Emoto was born, and will also reveal precious stories from Emoto's childhood.
From 1:55pm to 3:20pm on October 5th, the show will air its first-ever nationwide "Los Angeles Special" set in Los Angeles, USA (excluding some areas). The October 2nd broadcast will show Takada searching for travel goods in Ginza ahead of the Los Angeles location shoot. The October 3rd broadcast will feature the "Narita Airport Edition" just before departure for Los Angeles. The program will introduce the latest facial recognition check-in method, as well as the comfortable business class seats and the extensive in-flight services, including luxurious meals.
