To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the TV anime "GEAR Warrior Dendoh," which aired from 2000 to 2001, a visual drawn by main mechanical designer Junichi Akutsu has been released. Color setting drawings have also been released, which show an updated version of the Power Up Data Weapon (an enhanced version of the Data Weapon), which was an unused idea in the series, as a Neo Data Weapon. The new setting drawings for the evolved Unicorn Drill, Leo Circle, and Dragon Flare have been newly drawn and colorized by Akutsu under the supervision of Director Mitsuo Fukuda.
It was also announced that a sequel novel project has begun, which will take place three years after the final episode of the anime. The completely new novel, which depicts a new battle between Ginga and Hokuto, will be written by Ukyo Kodachi, author of "Brave Space Sorgrader," and will be supervised by Director Fukuda and Producer Hisataka Furusato.
It was also announced that plans have begun for alloy action figures of the series. Hobby Japan's figure brand "AMAKUNI" series will see the release of figures of Dendo, Ohga, and Neo Data Weapon.
In response to the 25th anniversary, Director Fukuda expressed his gratitude, saying, "GEAR Warrior Dendoh has reached its 25th anniversary. We have been able to come this far thanks to all the fans who have warmly supported us over the years. We would like to express our sincere gratitude. All of our staff will continue to do our best to deliver works that everyone can enjoy. We will continue to take on further challenges and evolve, using the 25th anniversary as a milestone, so we hope you will continue to support GEAR Warrior Dendoh in the future."
"GEAR Warrior Dendoh" is a robot anime that depicts the friendship between two elementary school students. The story follows the two polar opposites, the cheerful and lively Ginga and the introverted Hokuto, who repeatedly clash but overcome difficult situations.
