It has been announced that Jinushi's manga "Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You," which is currently being serialized in the manga magazine "Big Gangan" (Square Enix), will be adapted into a TV anime and broadcast on the TBS network in 2026. The series has been serialized on Jinushi's Twitter (now X) since March 2022, with the first episode receiving a total of approximately 280,000 likes and being selected as the top web manga in the "Next Manga Awards 2022." The comic has sold over 2.5 million copies in total.
The story is about a middle-aged man, Sasaki, and a woman named Tayama, who dresses in a slightly eccentric outfit, whom Sasaki meets at his favorite supermarket, and they have a trivial conversation in the smoking area behind the supermarket. The story depicts an adult drama centered around Sasaki and Tayama. The latest volume 7 of the comic will be released on July 25th.
