It has been revealed that actor Leo Matsumoto will be making a guest appearance in the third episode of WOWOW's drama series "W-30: My murdered husband has returned" (Fridays at 11pm), which will air on July 25th. Matsumoto will play the role of Mase Tadahito, the first love of the main character Suzukura Mana (Yamashita Mizuki Yamashita) when she was a teenager.
The drama is a suspense and mystery based on the novel of the same name by Sakurai Mina (Shogakukan, 2021). Yamashita plays Suzukura Mana, who hides the secret of killing her abusive husband Kazuki (Riku Hagiwara) and takes the first step towards her dream of becoming a designer, but the husband she supposedly killed appears with no memory of it... and so the story unfolds. It has 6 episodes in total. This will be Matsumoto's first co-starring role with Yamashita and Hagiwara since "Furitsumore Kodoku na Shi yo" (Nippon TV) in 2024.
The second episode, which will air on the 18th, will depict Mana's meeting with her best friend (Tanabe Ririka), who inspired her to become a designer, and will also gradually reveal the brutal details of her life, including the daily abuse she endured at the hands of her mother.
Mase, played by Matsumoto, will appear in the third episode broadcast on the 25th, and will be portrayed as a presence like hope for Mana, who lives in despair in a harsh environment. Mase, who lived near the apartment in Morioka where Mana lived, became her confidant as they often ran into each other, and the two gradually became closer. What will be the outcome of the sad and faint love between these two?

The character I played, Mase Masato, is the first love of Suzukura Mana, played by Mizuki Yamashita , when she was a teenager, and I appear in a flashback scene. Although it is only a short scene, it is an unforgettable and important event for the character of Suzukura Mana, and it is a meaningful scene that connects to her 'now'. I hope you will watch it."
Matsumoto-san has been in the spotlight for his role as "Kazami-senpai," a calligraphy club member admired by the heroine, in the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi ," starring Kanna Hashimoto , which will air in the second half of 2024. He has also been selected to play the role of Ishida Mitsunari in the NHK Taiga drama "Toyotomi Brothers!", which will air in 2026.
