Akari Takaishi , an actress who is also making waves for her role as the heroine in the NHK Asadora drama series "Bakebake " in the second half of 2025, appeared at the completion ceremony for the film "On the Summer Sands" (directed by Shinya Tamada, to be released on July 4) held in Tokyo on June 17th. She wore a refreshing summer outfit, matching a sheer light blue one-piece dress with white shoes.
The dress was made of soft, chiffon-like material, with cape-like sleeves. It was pleated all over, and the flowing drape added a touch of glamour. Her hair was neatly tied up in a bun, and her silver ear cuffs and bracelets shone brightly.
The film is based on a play by Matsuda Masataka, with actor Joe Odagiri starring and co-producer, and written by director Tamada. Set in the rainless summer of Nagasaki, Koura Osamu (Odagiri), whose life has stopped due to the sense of loss he feels after losing his son and whose wife has abandoned him, ends up living with his niece Yuko (Takaishi), who was left behind by his sister. The film depicts the young man finding a small bud of hope in a heart as dry as summer sand.
Also appearing at the event were Odagiri, Takako Matsu, Hikari Mitsushima, Naotaro Moriyama, Fumiya Takahashi Takahashi, Ken Mitsuishi, and director Tamada.
