According to the movie attendance rankings for December 12th-14th (surveyed by Kogyo Tsushinsha) released on December 15th, Disney animation's "Zootopia 2" (directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard) topped the list for the second week in a row. Over the three-day weekend, it attracted approximately 1,161,000 people and grossed approximately 1.624 billion yen. Cumulative totals have already surpassed 3.01 million viewers and 4.2 billion yen in box office revenue.
Among the debuting films, "Back to the Future: 40th Anniversary Limited Screening," the monumental sci-fi adventure film executive produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Robert Zemeckis, ranked third. In the first three days of its release, it attracted approximately 86,000 viewers and grossed approximately 198 million yen. It was also screened in IMAX and 4DX for the first time in history. Coming in fourth place is "Romantic Killer" (directed by Kyohei Takahashi Hanabusa), a live-action adaptation of Wataru Momoyo's popular manga, starring a quattro cast of Moka Kamishiraishi, Kyohei Takahashi, Masaya Kimura, and Sota Nakajima. In the first three days of its release, it attracted approximately 76,000 viewers and grossed approximately 106 million yen. The fourth installment of the "Monthly Eva EVANGELION 30th MOVIE Fest. 2025-2026," a revival screening project of the popular anime series "Evangelion," "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance" (general director: Hideaki Anno), ranked 7th.
"Glory Back Home" (directed by Jun Akiyama), in its third week of release, attracted approximately 110,000 viewers and grossed approximately 158 million yen over the three-day weekend, maintaining its second place position from the previous week. Cumulative totals exceed 650,000 viewers and are approaching 900 million yen. "Bomb" (directed by Satoshi Nagai), in its seventh week of release, maintained its fifth place position, with a cumulative total of 1.83 million viewers and gross of over 2.6 billion yen. "National Treasure" (directed by Lee Sang-il), in its 28th week of release, is in sixth place, with a cumulative total of 12.71 million viewers and gross of 17.9 billion yen.
