It has been announced that 3rd generation member Matono Mio will be the center for the idol group Sakurazaka46's 12th single "Make or Break" (on sale June 25th).
The announcement was made during the group's signature variety show "Soko Magattara, Sakurazaka?" (TV Tokyo, Sunday midnight 12:50) which aired late at night on May 25th. Matono's comments were also introduced on the show, where she stated with enthusiasm, "I haven't found or explored my strengths or talents yet, but I'm sure people have high expectations of me. As the color of the group Sakurazaka46 changes little by little, I want to become a presence that people can rely on, even if just a little, with this single."
Matono is 18 years old, born on November 8, 2006. She is from Fukuoka Prefecture. She joined the group in January 2023 as a third-generation member.
