The final judging session for the annual end-of-year music awards, the 67th Shining! The Japan Record Awards(sponsored by the Japan Composer's Association), was held at the New National Theatre (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on December 30th, and the exchange between announcer Shinichiro Azumi, who served as the general host, and the eight-member idol group CUTIE STREET, who won the New Artist Award, became a hot topic.
On this day, CUTIE STREET performed their hit song "Kawaii Dake Ja Dame Desu Ka?". Member Risa Furusawa, who announced on the 28th that she had suffered an avulsion fracture in her left ankle, performed while sitting in a chair.
Before the performance, Furusawa and the general host, Shinichiro Azumi, chatted on stage. Yasuzumi offered words of encouragement, saying, "I heard you suffered an avulsion fracture in your leg... but don't push yourself too hard, you're a hard worker. Even with a broken bone, idols are amazing!"
