It has been revealed that actress Kyoko Fukada will be appearing in the TBS Tuesday 10pm drama "Hatsukoi DOGs" (Tuesdays at 10pm) starring Kaya Kiyohara, which will begin airing in July. Fukada, who plays the popular and big sister-type manager of a dog cafe, Miyase Yuka, is also known as a dog lover, and commented, "Just hearing about the role of a dog cafe manager got me excited because it sounded like fun."
This is a co-production between the TBS Drama Team and Korean production company STUDIO DRAGON, which has worked on hits such as "Crash Landing on You" and "Marry My Husband," with the script written by Arisa Kaneko and directed by Shingo Okamoto, Noh Young-seop, and Yoshihiro Ito. The love story begins when the two "pet dogs" of Aiko Hanamura, a cool lawyer who doesn't believe in love, played by Kiyohara, and Kai Shirasaki, a complicated veterinarian who can only love animals, played by Narita, fall in love. Na In-woo, a Korean actor who appeared in "Marry My Husband," will make his first appearance in a Japanese drama as a Korean heir with a secret who appears before the two.
Yuka, played by Fukada, is the manager of a dog cafe near Kai's animal hospital. Yuka always looks like a "good woman" and unconsciously exudes pheromones around her. Despite her sexiness, she is a bold, compassionate, and "big sister" type who is loved by everyone. She is one of the few friends who knows the personal side of Kai, who stopped getting close to people after a certain incident, and she is actually involved in Kai's past love affairs, making her a key person in the story.
Yuka has had many romantic experiences up until now and doesn't seem to be that interested in romance right now, but it seems like someone is currently in love with her... Yuka's "innocent popular aura" will cause turmoil in the love lives of the characters.
◇Comment from Kyoko Fukada
Just hearing that I would be playing the role of a dog cafe manager made me feel excited because it sounded like a fun role. I also have a dog and am regularly looked after by veterinarians and groomers, so being able to see the behind-the-scenes aspects and feelings of their work in this work has made me even more grateful. The filming location is always "dog first". The trainers and directors are very careful not to push the dogs, who cannot express their intentions in words, so it's a great location. The contrast between the soothing scenes that are irresistible to dog and cat lovers and the scenes at the dog cafe and hospital reception is just right, so I think it will be a fun and warm drama, so please look forward to it.
