Kaito Nakamura of the popular group "Travis Japan" appeared at the preview screening of the dubbed version of Disney's live-action film "Lilo & Stitch" (directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp, to be released on June 6th) held in Tokyo on May 21st. Nakamura revealed that he and the other members had watched the film, and Koichi Yamadera, the voice actor who dubs Stitch, was very excited, saying, "I'm so happy!"
Nakamura said that he "can empathize with the bond depicted in the film because I am also in a group," and revealed, "I watched it with my group members, and we were all sobbing." He continued, "The members were also moved, and said, 'I want to watch it again,' so I strongly recommended it to them."
Speaking about David, for whom he was the voice actor, he said, "He's handsome and he surfs in the ocean, so I tried many different things to figure out how to convey his overflowing kindness in my voice.I also tried to make sure my pronunciation was clear and that my voice was easy to understand."He talked about what he paid attention to while working as a voice actor.
Also attending the preview screening were Nagao Yuno, MOMONA from "ME:I," Hasegawa Shinobu from "Sissonne," Mitsuya Yuji, and Watanabe Eri.
The film is a live-action adaptation of the Disney animated film of the same name produced in 2002. It is a fantasy set on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, depicting the important bond of "ohana (family)." A young girl named Lilo and her older sister Nani, who have lost their parents, are confronted by Stitch, a rowdy alien who knows no family love. Stitch's unpredictable actions cause chaos on the peaceful island, but this miraculous encounter eventually changes the sisters who were close to losing hope.
