Actor Masami Nagasawa received the 50th Kikuta Kazuo Drama Award and attended the awards ceremony held in Tokyo on May 21. She appeared in a tight dress with a slit, captivating the audience.
Nagasawa, who received the award for her performance as Karamatsu Zairyo/Grushenika in the play "Equivalent Love Triangle," said in her speech, "I am very happy. We had almost six months to create this piece together with the cast and staff. We rehearsed every day so much that I felt like I was attending drama school."
He continued, "I started acting from watching videos, so theater felt like a very faraway place. But I feel like that moment when I mustered up the courage to take the plunge and try standing on stage is coming back to me like this."
Finally, she said with emphasis, "If I ask myself whether I have accomplished anything, I would say there is still a lot I need to do, but I would like to turn this wonderful award I received into courage and motivation for the future and keep working hard."
In addition to Nagasawa, Kuriyama Tamiya, who won the grand prize for directing the plays "Orlando" and "Fan Letter," Asumi Rio and Kai Shoma, who won theater awards, director Ueda Ikko, and Ito Shiro and Hayashi Yoichi, who received the Kikuchi Kazuo Theater Award Special Award, also appeared on stage.
