It has been announced that the serial drama "Shiba no Okite ~Warera Inu Baka Editorial Department~" will be broadcast on NHK's "Drama 10" slot (General TV, Tuesdays at 10pm) from September 30th. The drama is based on the non-fiction book "Heisei Inu Baka Editorial Department" by Yuka Katano, and stars Shunsuke Daito as Shunichi Sagara, the editor-in-chief of a magazine specializing in Shiba Inu dogs, and Marie Iitoyo as Reika Ishimori, an editor who is somehow at odds with Sagara.
The drama is set in the Shiba Inu magazine "Shiba One" and is a human story that gently unravels the tangled hearts of people. Otomo plays Sagara, who is clumsy and inconsiderate. As the editor-in-chief of a pachinko magazine, he becomes a huge hit with 300,000 copies sold, but is boycotted by the entire staff. Unemployed within the company, he has no choice but to come up with a plan for a new magazine. Then, he suddenly sees his beloved Shiba Inu, Fukusuke, who is his emotional anchor. As a last resort, he launches the Shiba Inu magazine "Shiba One".
Meanwhile, Reika, played by Iitoyo, wants to be assigned to a soccer magazine, but since joining the company, she has been in charge of a fishing magazine. Her blunt behavior has caused trouble frequently, making her an annoyance in the editorial department, and she submits her resignation. Meanwhile, the president asks her to work at "Shiba ON" as a condition for being assigned to the soccer magazine, and she becomes a member of the editorial department, even though she doesn't like dogs.
