The fourth episode of the TV drama series "PJ: Air Rescue Team" (TV Asahi, Thursdays at 9pm), starring actor Seiyo Uchino, aired on May 15th, and the average viewership rating (Kanto region, according to Video Research, below) was 5.7% for households and 3.4% for individuals.
The drama is set in the Air Self-Defense Force's Air Rescue Wing, commonly known as PJ (Pararescue Jumper), an elite rescue unit known as the "last line of defense for saving lives." The story depicts trainees aiming to become PJ members undergoing rigorous training under the strict and unconventional head instructor, Seiji Usami (Uchino).
In episode 4, the harsh mountaineering training begins, where the only thing students can drink in the mountains for two days is two liters of water. At first, the students seem to be in good spirits. Gradually, Tokairin (Atsuhiro Inukai) begins to fall behind, and finally collapses to his knees. Then, Usami (Seiyo Uchino) and the other instructors coldly tell them, "If you can't move, leave us behind." The seven classmates vowed to graduate together. However, as they are pushed to their physical and mental limits, some of them eventually drop out... and so the story unfolds.
