The sixth episode of the original anime "LAZARUS" by director Shinichiro Watanabe, known for the anime "Cowboy Bebop," titled "HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH," will be broadcast on TV Tokyo on May 11th.
Lazarus and his team discover that Skinner visited a cult commune when he was young. The commune is also where Elaina was born and raised, and where she escaped. Elaina and Leland infiltrate the commune, pretending to return. There, Elaina is reunited with her childhood friend Hannah. The commune worships the AI Naga as its leader.
The story is about a team of agents from around the world, Lazarus, who pursue Skinner, a genius scientist who developed a painkiller called Hapuna, which causes death three years after taking it, in order to save humanity.
Mamoru Miyano will play the protagonist Axel, who is imprisoned due to a certain incident but repeatedly escapes, and whose "hobby is escaping from prison." Voice actors include Makoto Furukawa, Maaya Uchida, Yuma Uchida, Manaka Iwami, Megumi Hayashibara Akio Otsuka, and Koichi Yamadera. MAPPA will produce the film.
