A documentary program focusing on kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjuro and his family, "We're at Narita-ya," will be broadcast on Nippon Television from 3:00 p.m. on January 17th.
The eldest daughter, Reika Horikoshi (14), took on the challenge of walking on the runway for the first time. Although she still has a childish expression of surprise at the makeup applied to her face for the show, she posed confidently in a miniskirt on the runway. The camera follows her as she takes on new fields one after another, not just traditional ones like Kabuki and Japanese dance.
Last spring, Shinnosuke, the eldest son who entered junior high school, went to Kenya, Africa with Danjuro. The program follows his private trip and gets excited about the wild animals he encounters one after another, including lions and giraffes.
It has been 17 years since Ichikawa Ebizo and Kobayashi Mao first met, and the film has been closely followed. The children have grown significantly, showing new faces, and Danjuro watches over them as their father. This documentary is packed with rare footage that follows the family over the course of a year.
