TV Tokyo's popular information variety show "Appears! Ad Street Heaven" (Saturdays at 9pm) will feature Hakone and Lake Ashi on its January 10th broadcast.
Hakone is one of the Kanto region's leading hot spring resorts, and its three shrines - Hakone Shrine, Kuzuryu Shrine Hongu, and Hakone Motomiya - are famous as power spots. The program will introduce the currently popular matchmaking spot at Hakone Shrine, the spectacular art museum next to the shrine's torii gate where you can view masterpieces of modern Japanese painting, the magnificent panoramic view from the summit of a famous mountain, and even a tea ceremony on board! The program will introduce tours on new pleasure boats and pirate ships.
In addition, we will cover the lakeside's hugely popular stone oven pizza and bakery, the locals' retro Western dish "pumpkin pudding," and the delicious fries! We will also cover Lake Ashi's winter specialty, smelt, and the revival of the temple grounds' rest area's specialty! We will also introduce gourmet food such as Gongen Karamemochi. We will also introduce how we managed to photograph the "upside-down cedar" at the bottom of the lake.
