"Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Friday 11:17pm) is a popular variety show where "detectives" tackle the most bizarre requests and worries sent in by viewers. On May 2nd, Detective Hiroshi Tamura investigated "his father's secret savings that disappeared 20 years ago." Deputy Director Takanori Takeyama, Secretary Saori Masuda, and Advisor Akira Hano appeared on the show.
The request came from a man (30) from Shizuoka Prefecture. The other day, when he returned to his parents' home in Kagoshima, he suddenly remembered a treasure lying dormant in the guest room. It was his father's secret savings. When he was an elementary school student, his father tried to hide his secret savings behind a painting hanging in the guest room, but the savings fell into a gap in the wall.
My father gave up and said, "I'll give the whole amount to whoever retrieves it!" He struggled to get it out somehow, but he couldn't see where it had fallen and ended up not being able to retrieve it. More than 20 years have passed since then, and the secret savings are still in that gap. I wish he could retrieve this secret savings.
When it comes to the secret savings, the client's son, father, and mother all claim that it is "mine!" and refuse to give it up. They immediately insert a fiberscope into the gap in the wall and find a collection bag with the second daughter's name written on it. In fact, that's where they put the secret savings. However, they try putting double-sided tape on the end of the scope and inserting it in, and they try to widen the gap with a saw, but they can't get the secret savings out! So they call in a carpenter. With the aim of getting the 70,000 yen secret savings, major construction work has begun!
