As part of the 20th anniversary project of Hideaki Sorachi's popular manga "Gintama," it has been announced that 4DX versions of two animated films, "Gintama: The Final Chapter - Be Forever Yorozuya" and "Gintama THE FINAL," will be screened in theaters. The second film, "Gintama: The Final Chapter - Be Forever Yorozuya," was released in 2013 as the "final chapter" of the anime "Gintama," and is a completely new episode drawn by Sorachi. The 4DX version of the film, "Gintama: The Final Chapter - Be Forever Yorozuya," which was released in 2021 based on the ending of the original work, depicts two "endings" of the anime and the original work. "Gintama: The Final Chapter - Be Forever Yorozuya" will be screened in the summer of 2025, and "Gintama THE FINAL" in the fall of the same year.
The latest poster visual and trailer have also been released. Fumihiko Tachiki, the voice actor of Taizo Hasegawa, also known as Madao, is in charge of the narration for the trailer.
"Gintama" is an action drama set in a fictional Edo. In a world ruled by aliens called Amanto, the sweet-toothed and reckless samurai Sakata Gintoki solves various cases brought to Yorozuya with his friends Shinpachi and Kagura. The series began serialization in December 2003 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), and the final episode aired on June 20, 2019.
The first season of the TV anime was broadcast from 2006 to 2010, the second from 2011 to 2013, the third from 2015 to 2016, and the fourth from 2017 to 2018. The animated film "Gintama: The Movie - The New Benizakura Arc" was released in 2010, and "Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter - Be Forever Yorozuya" was released in 2013. The film "Gintama: The Final" was released in 2021.
It is also attracting attention that the TV anime "3rd Year Z Class Ginpachi Sensei", based on the spin-off novel of the "Gintama" spin-off "Gintama 3rd Year Z Class Ginpachi Sensei", will be broadcast on TV Tokyo from October.
