It was revealed on the 24th that music producer Tetsuya Komuro will make a cameo appearance as himself in the film " Ya Boy Kongming! THE MOVIE" (directed by Shuhei Shibue), starring Osamu Mukai and set to be released on April 25th. Komuro will appear as a VIP guest invited to the music battle festival "Music Battle Awards 2025", where the three major music labels compete against each other, just like in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the setting of the film.
Komuro debuted in 1984 as part of the group "TM NETWORK" and produced numerous artists in the 1990s. He is a legend who sparked a major movement in the Japanese music scene, releasing a string of million-selling hits.
It has already been announced that the festival scene featuring Komuro will feature the nine-member global group "&TEAM," Iwata Takanori as himself, and voice actor Mamoru Miyano as MC Mamo, making for a "festival movie" that will give you the same exhilarating feeling as a live music concert.
"Ya Boy Kongming! THE MOVIE" is the movie version of the TV drama "Ya Boy Kongming!" (Fuji TV, 2023), which is based on the popular manga currently being serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha). The genius military strategist Zhuge Kongming (Mukai) from the Three Kingdoms period is reincarnated in modern-day Shibuya and becomes the military strategist of amateur singer Tsukimi Eiko (Kamishiraishi Moka), who uses clever strategies to break down all the obstacles that stand in her way and lead her to success. In the movie, Sima Jun (Fuju Kamio), a descendant of Sima Yi, Kongming's biggest rival from the Three Kingdoms period, and his sister, singer Shin (Utaha), appear and stand in the way of Kongming and Eiko.
