It has been revealed that anime production companies Asahi Production and Pierrot have signed a capital and business alliance agreement. The two companies have been working together since 2024, and have built a system that allows them to stably produce higher quality works by leveraging Asahi Production's accumulated know-how and advanced technical capabilities, mainly in filming and CG, and Pierrot's production capabilities as the prime contractor for long-running anime works for many years. In order to further strengthen the collaboration between the two companies in the future, they have agreed to enter into a capital and business alliance in which Pierrot will take over shares in Asahi Production.
Asahi Productions President and CEO Muneharu Yamaura commented, "As the popularity of Japanese anime grows worldwide, we hope to team up with Pierrot, which has produced many popular works, to make the most of the strengths of both companies and provide works that will inspire anime fans around the world."
Pierrot's President and CEO, Norihide Ueda, said, "Asahi Production is an excellent company with the industry's best filming techniques, and this partnership is essential for raising the level of the animations that Pierrot produces in the future. We hope to utilize each company's strengths to not only improve the quality but also expand our lineup, so please look forward to it."
Asahi Productions began by providing filming techniques for anime and has since been involved in the production of many famous works. Currently, the company has the comprehensive capabilities to handle all processes, including prime production, drawing, CG, editing, and more.
Since its founding in 1979, Pierrot has been an independent anime production company that produces long-running TV anime series, as well as feature films and original video animations (OVAs). Some of its most well-known works include "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Angel Creamy Mami," "Yu Yu Hakusho," "NARUTO," "BLEACH," "Kingdom," and "Tokyo Ghoul."
