The opening day stage greeting for the third chapter of the latest installment of the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato", "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199", "Gunjo no Asteroid", was held on April 11th at Marunouchi Piccadilly (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). It was announced that the fourth chapter, "Sasha (Sasha)", will be screened from October 10th, and screenwriter Oka Hideki said about the fourth chapter, "From this point onwards, it gets more and more interesting. This is where the counterattack begins," and "It's full of things I wanted to know and see."
The appearance of the battleship Arizona in Chapter 3 has also been talked about. Oka said of the Arizona, "She will play an important role. She will play a major role in the future."
General director Fukui Harutoshi said, "I never thought we'd see an elementary school classroom in Chapter 3... Never before seen landscapes will appear, and we'll point the camera in places we've never pointed it before and go into those scenes. On the Earth side, we'll delve into parts you've never seen before." He added, "In Chapter 1, I said, 'This is my greatest masterpiece to date,' and as I'm working on the sound for Chapter 6, I really feel that this is going to be the case. Director Yamato Naomichi also appeared on stage to greet the audience, and Nakamura Eriko, who plays Kiryu Mikage, acted as the host.
"Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199" is a new interpretation of the third movie, "Be Forever Yamato," released in 1980, and is a reconstruction of the original work. Harutoshi Fukui is the general director, and is also in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage," and will also be the general director of this latest work. The first Space Battleship Yamato anime series was broadcast in 1974, and other films have since been produced, including Space Battleship Yamato 2, Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato , Warriors of Love, and Space Battleship Yamato Resurrection. A remake of the first film, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, was screened in theaters and broadcast on TV from 2012 to 2014, and a sequel to 2199, 2202, was screened in theaters and broadcast on TV from 2017 to 2019. A two-part series, 2205, was screened in theaters in 2021 and 2022.
