Actor Tori Matsuzaka attended the Japan premiere of the movie "Paddington 3" (directed by Paul King, to be released on May Getsuku ) held in Tokyo on April Getsuku . As it was early April, Matsuzaka was asked about a memorable episode from when he had started a new career. He revealed that filming for a new project had started on April 1st, but he had forgotten the script on the day and "was very nervous."
Matsuzaka said that although he had his lines memorized, "I felt anxious when I didn't have it with me." Although those around him didn't know that he had forgotten it, he recalled a recent moment of anxiety, saying, "It's like a talisman, after all."
The film is based on a best-selling children's novel that has been translated into over 40 languages and sold over 35 million copies worldwide. Paddington, a bear and "English gentleman" with his trademark red hat and duffle coat, goes on a family trip to Peru to visit his Aunt Lucy who lives in an "old bear home," and embarks on an adventure deep in the jungle. The first film was released in 2016, and the second in 2018, with Matsuzaka providing the voice of Paddington in the Japanese dubbed version.
The voice actors for the film, Yo Yoshida, Natsume Mito, and Ahiru Ohira, also attended the event. At the start of the event, Matsuzaka was called by the three and appeared from the boat with Paddington. He was delighted to be reunited with Paddington and spoke to him in a friendly manner, asking him things like, "I wonder how old you are now?"
