"LAZARUS," an original anime directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, known for the anime "Cowboy Bebop," will be broadcast on TV Tokyo every Sunday at 11:45 p.m. starting April 6.
The story is about a team of agents from all over the world, Lazarus, who pursue the genius scientist Skinner Skinner, who developed a painkiller called Hapuna, which causes death three years after taking it, in order to save humanity.
In the first episode, "GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD," it is revealed that the miracle painkiller Hapuna is actually a drug that will destroy humanity. A woman named Hirsch appears before Axel, who is in prison, and tells him, "I want you to find Skinner in exchange for your freedom." Axel escapes from prison, and Doug, Chris, Leland, and Elaina, who were sent to capture him, end up cornering Axel, who is easily running through the city with parkour.
Mamoru Miyano will play the protagonist Axel, who is imprisoned due to a certain incident but repeatedly escapes, and whose "hobby is escaping from prison." Makoto Makoto Furukawa Uchida, Yuma Uchida, Manaka Iwami, Megumi Hayashibara, Megumi Hayashibara Akio Otsuka, and Koichi Yamadera will appear as voice actors. MAPPA will produce the film.
