It has been revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to Nintendo's game console, will be released on June 5th. The Japanese/domestic version will be priced at 49,980 yen, while the version bundled with the downloadable version of the simultaneously released exclusive software Mario Kart World will be priced at 53,980 yen, and the multilingual version (69,980 yen) will be exclusively sold at the official online store, My Nintendo Store.
A lottery sale will be held at the My Nintendo Store. Details of the application process will be announced after April 4th, but the current application requirements are that "as of February 28th, 2025, you must have played Nintendo Switch software for at least 50 hours (excluding trial versions and free software)" and "you must have been a member of Nintendo Switch Online for at least one year at the time of application, and must be a member at the time of application."
In addition, game stores and online shops nationwide will begin accepting reservations or lotteries as soon as they are ready after April 24th.
