An event for the TV anime " Blue Box ," based on the popular manga by Kouji Miura , was held on March 22nd at the world's largest anime event "AnimeJapan 2025," held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). Shoya Chiba , who plays Taiki Inomata , Chinatsu Kano Reina Ueda, who plays Shikano Chinatsu, Hina Chono , who plays Chono Hina, Chiaki Kobayashi, who plays Kasahara Tadashi, and Kana Ichinose, who plays Moriya Ayame, appeared. They talked about episode 24, which aired on March 20th and depicts the scene in which Hina suffers a broken heart.
Ueda, who is a "Hina fan," spoke of the painful events that took place in episode 24, in which Hina is rejected by Taiki, the boy she has feelings for. Furthermore, referring to the appearance of Hina and "candy apples" in the ending theme, he said, "Rather than leaving a bitter aftertaste, ' Blue Box' is a tough episode, but it has a sweet and sour feeling to it...It's sweet like candy apples, but as you go deeper, something sour also appears, and I thought that ' Blue Box' is a work that can leave this aftertaste, and is truly wonderful."
Kito-san recalled with a wry smile that on the day of the dubbing of episode 24, he was nervous and in a gloomy mood when he went to the set. He continued, "Episode 24 was a tough one, but I'm glad I was able to act in it, and I think Hina really worked hard... I've come to love her even more now," revealing his feelings about the character.
The original work began serialization in April 2021 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). Set at the sports powerhouse Sakae High School, the story is about a youthful club love story in which Taiki Inomata, a boy's badminton club member, falls in love with Chinatsu Kano, a senior in the girl's basketball club. The anime is currently airing on TBS every Thursday at 11:56 pm. The final episode will air on March 27th.
