It has been announced that season 2 of the TV anime "My Dress-up Darling (Kisekoi)", based on the popular manga by Shinichi Fukuda serialized in "Young Gangan" (Square Enix), will begin airing in July. This will be the first new TV anime in about three years since season 1, which aired from January to March 2022.
A newly drawn illustration was released to commemorate the decision to broadcast the series in July, and a "Memories PV" was released that follows the trajectory of Season 1 and adds new scenes from Season 2. It was also revealed that a project called "The Main Character Voice Actor Sews Clothes Season 2" will be launched in which Shoya Ishige, who plays Gojo Niina, will once again try his hand at making costumes.
"My Dress-up Darling" began serialization in "Young Gangan" in 2018, and the final episode was published in the 7th issue of the magazine on March 21, bringing the curtain down on the approximately 7-year serialization. It is a romantic comedy depicting the love story between Gojo Niina, a high school boy training to become a head maker who makes faces for Hina dolls, and Kitagawa Marin, a gyaru cosplayer who loves anime and games. The comic has sold over 13 million copies in total.
Season 1 of the TV anime aired from January to March 2022. A live-action drama starring Riko Nagase and Nomura Kota was also broadcast from October to December 2024, which attracted much attention.
