An event for the TV anime "Oshi no Ko," based on a popular manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), was held on March 22nd at "AnimeJapan 2025," one of the world's largest anime events, held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). A costume of Ai, a popular character and "legendary idol," appeared on stage. Takeo Otsuka, who plays Aqua, and other voice actors were delighted with Ai's appearance and showed smiles.
Also appearing at the event were Yurie Igoma, who plays Kana Arima, Megumi Han, Akane Kurokawa, who plays Manaka Iwami, and Rumi Okubo, who plays Mem-cho. They looked back on the second season of the TV anime and the special event "Ichigo Production ☆ Fan Appreciation Festival 2025" held in February.
In response to the fact that the official YouTube channel for the series surpassed 1 million subscribers in October last year, Ai appeared holding a gold shield, which is awarded to channels that reach 1 million subscribers. Otsuka received the shield from Ai on behalf of the voice actors. A charades game was played on stage as "things Ai wants to try," livening up the event.
New information about the third season was also announced, including the "teaser visual side Aqua" as well as an "introduction" to the story. It was also announced that the live performance footage shown at the "Ichigo Production☆Fan Appreciation Festival 2025" will be released for four consecutive weeks on the official "Oshi no Ko" YouTube channel. The first video will be "POP IN 2" by Ikoma, Pan, and Okubo. It will premiere at 6pm on March 22nd.
"Oshi no Ko " is a popular manga written by Aka Akasaka , who Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is War", and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari , who also wrote " Scum's Wish ", and was serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" from April 2020 to November 2024. It tells the story of a twin brother and sister left behind by a genius idol named Ai, who suddenly dies. The younger twin, Ruby, admires her mother and enters the entertainment industry, while the older brother, Aqua, vows to take revenge on their biological father, who is believed to have accomplices in Ai's murder. The comic has sold over 20 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2023, and the second season from July to October 2024. The third season will air in 2026. The live-action adaptation has also been a hot topic.
