It has been announced that the third chapter of the all-new film trilogy of the popular TV anime "Mononoke," which was broadcast on Fuji TV's late-night anime slot "Noitamina" in 2007, will be titled "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3: Snake God" and will be released in spring 2026. It has also been revealed that, following the first and second chapters, the setting will be the Ooku. The second chapter, "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2: Fire Rat," was released on March 14, and information on the third chapter was announced.
The first series of Mubichike card-type advance tickets for Chapter 3 went on sale on March 14th, and the design was released. The design depicts a medicine seller holding a demon-slaying sword in front of the underground altar "Shrine" that appears in Chapters 1 and 2 and leaves an impact as a mysterious space. As a purchase bonus, an A4 visual card with the same design as the first series of Mubichike cards will be included.
"Mononoke" is an anime produced by the staff of the popular episode "Bakeneko" of "Ayakashi", which was broadcast on Noitamina in 2006. The story depicts the supernatural tale of a medicine seller who appeared in "Bakeneko" facing off against a Mononoke.
"Mononoke the Movie" is set in the inner palace, where women's passions swirl, and follows a medicine seller as he pursues the true identity of the "Mononoke." There are three chapters in total, with the first, "Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa," being released in July 2024, and the second, "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2: Fire Rat," being released on March 14. Nakamura Kenji, who worked on the TV series and the first chapter of the movie, will be the general director of Chapter 2, and Suzuki Kiyotaka will be the director.
