The eighth episode of the drama series "The Hot Spot" (NTV, Sunday 10:30 pm), starring actress Ichikawa Mikako, was broadcast on March 2nd. At the end of the episode, a certain truth about Mizuki (Shida Mirai), a childhood friend of Yumi (Kaho) who works at the same business hotel as Kiyomi (Ichikawa), was revealed, causing a stir on social media.

In episode 8, Murakami (Fumiyo Kohinata), a long-term guest who tells Kiyomi about a future she does not know, turns out to be a man from 50 years in the future. Kiyomi learns about the future of the hotel, which no one knows yet, and shares the secret with Hatchi (Suzuki Anne) and Minapu (Hiraiwa Kami). She worries about the "alien" Takahashi (Akihiro Kakuta), saying, "Isn't Takahashi the one who will be most affected if the hotel disappears?"
If Takahashi can no longer bathe in the hotel's hot springs, his immune system will weaken. Worried, Kiyomi and the others talk with Takahashi at a cafe. As the conversation progresses, Takahashi reveals the background of his family's visit to Earth, his memories with his family, the circumstances that led to him sealing away his powers, and the reason he helped Kiyomi...
Later in the story, Yumi and Mizuki appear in front of Kiyomi, Takahashi and the others who have moved to a family restaurant. Mizuki, who knows that Takahashi is an alien, is concerned that TV station director Kishimoto (Sosuke Ikematsu) and others had approached Takahashi in an attempt to find out his true identity, and asks, "Were you okay the other day?" Takahashi replies that he is fine, but expresses concern, saying, "However, I'm sure there are still video data and other things left behind, so I'm a bit worried about that."
Mizuki then confessed, "It's okay then. I deleted it." When Takahashi asked, "What do you mean?" Yumi revealed, "Oh, I didn't tell you. Mizupon (Mizuki) is a psychic."
Social media was abuzz over the revelation that Mizuki was a psychic. Comments included, "I was shocked by the unexpected punchline!", "Finally a psychic appeared lol", "There was too much information", and "I was surprised at the end". In addition, the appearance of a psychic following an alien and a person from the future led many to recall Nagaru Tanigawa's popular light novel "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", which also features characters who call themselves aliens, people from the future, and psychics. Comments included, "It's starting to look like Haruhi...", "It's definitely Haruhi!", and "Aliens, people from the future, psychics... it's just Haruhi!".
