The kick-off party for the movie " Ya Boy Kongming! THE MOVIE" (directed by Shuhei Shibue, released on April 25th), starring actor Osamu Mukai , was held at Pia Arena MM (Nishi-ku, Yokohama), where the star-studded cast gathered. Mukai, dressed in his costume, greeted the audience with, "My surname is Zhuge, my given name is Ryo, and my pen name is Kongming," exciting the audience of about 8,000 people who had gathered.
At the event, viewers introduced their favorite scenes, such as "Kongming's bartender scene," "Liu Bei's visit to Kongming," and "Buddhist sutra rap." Dean Fujioka commented, "Mukai's Chinese was natural, and it was a special scene." Miyase reflected, "I was shocked by the Buddhist sutra rap scene on the first day of filming."
The event featured Moka Kamishiraishi, Fuju Kamio, Ryubi Miyase, Mandy Sekiguchi, Win Morisaki, Huwie Ishizaki, ELLY, &TEAM, Ryosuke Nagaoka, and Dean Fujioka. There was also a live performance of songs from the film, with &TEAM performing "Dropkick," Sekiguchi performing "SO SO," and Kamishiraishi, Miyase, and Ishizaki performing "Time Capsule feat. KABE ver." Ishizaki then sang "Goodbye Elegy" and ELLY sang "MORE MONEY," raising the excitement in the venue.
At the end of the event, Mukai livened up the atmosphere with a message saying, "This is the first time we've held an event like this, and I believe we were able to hold this event because of the love we have had working on our work up until now. I think this event allowed people to feel the power of music."
"Ya Boy Kongming! THE MOVIE" is the movie version of the TV drama "Ya Boy Kongming!" (Fuji TV, 2023), which is based on the popular manga currently being serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha). The genius military strategist Zhuge Kongming (Mukai) from the Three Kingdoms period is reincarnated in modern-day Shibuya and becomes the military strategist of amateur singer Tsukimi Eiko (Kamishiraishi Moka), who uses clever strategies to break down all the obstacles that stand in her way and lead her to success. The movie also introduces new characters, including Sima Jun (Kamio), a descendant of Sima Yi, Kongming's biggest rival from the Three Kingdoms period, and his sister, singer Shin (Utaha). Standing in the way of Kongming and Eiko.
