The number of audience members exceeded 1.55 million. This surpasses the box office revenue of approximately 2.3 billion yen recorded by "Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space" released in 1982, making it the second highest-grossing theatrical version of the "Gundam" series. The highest box office revenue of a theatrical version of the series was approximately 5 billion yen, recorded by "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom", which will be released in January 2024.
"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is also a hot topic as it is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which is responsible for the "Gundam" series, and khara, known for the "Evangelion" series. The TV anime series is broadcast on the Nippon TV network, and a pre-broadcast version of some episodes was released in theaters on January 17th ahead of the broadcast.
