Additional cast members for the TV anime "SAKAMOTO DAYS," based on the popular manga by Suzuki Yuto currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), have been announced, including Kazuyuki Okitsu and Nobuhiko Okamoto. Okitsu will play X's (Slur) loyal subordinate, Kashima, a cyborg whose entire body is a weapon and who usually wears a reindeer headgear, while Okamoto will play Natsuo Seba, a nonchalant assassin who fights using a suit that makes him invisible and who hates troublesome matters.
Okitsu commented, "Kashima. A man with a deer's head. No, a man with the head of a reindeer, ``Kashima.'' I was captivated by him at first sight, and he was a character I really wanted to play. The atmosphere that comes across from the manga is also unique, with a strange mood and he seems to speak with a unique rhythm. I tried to play the role in a way that would convey at least a little of Kashima's charm, so I would be happy if everyone likes the reindeer too!"
Okamoto said, "He is a calm character, and at first glance it is hard to tell whether he is motivated or not no matter what he does, but he is also a realist who works hard for money.I tried to play a character who is extremely laid-back, so I'm looking forward to seeing how his personality differs from the other characters."
It was also announced that the special ending theme "Somebody help us" written by Vaundy will be played in the 7th episode "Jurassic Guy" which will be broadcast on February 22nd. A preview of the special ending has also been released.
The story is about Sakamoto Taro, a former legendary assassin who runs a shop after retiring, who fights with his friends against approaching assassins to protect the peaceful daily life he lives with his beloved family. This popular Weekly Shonen Jump series features spectacular battle scenes with unique characters, and is also attracting attention for its star-studded cast of voice actors, including Shimazaki Nobunaga as Asakura Shin, a Nobunaga Shimazaki who can read other people's minds and a subordinate of Sakamoto's from his days as an assassin, and Sakura Ayane as Lu Ayane Sakura, a former mafia member who now works at Sakamoto Shoten. The series airs every Saturday at 11pm on TV Tokyo and other networks.
