"We are honored to be performing at Kohaku for the last time before our hiatus," says A-chan, "It will be a fitting finale for us."

On December 28th, the three-member unit Perfume appeared at a rehearsal for the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, held at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo. Nishiwaki Ayaka, also known as "A-chan," mentioned that they will be going into "cold sleep" (hiatus) at the end of 2025, and said, "Since we will be going into cold sleep after this Kouhaku performance, this will be our final performance. After 25 years, we are honored to be able to conclude our run on the Kouhaku stage."

Regarding the stage they will be performing this time, they explained, "I wondered what we would do at the end, and it's simple and analog. It's a finale that suits us." They also revealed, "NHK has a lot of footage of us from the past, so we will be using that footage to perform."

The theme of the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen is "Connecting, Connecting, New Year's Eve," and it will be hosted by Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Haruka Ayase, Mio Imada, and announcer Naoko Suzuki. It will be broadcast from 7:20 pm to 11:45 pm on December 31st (with some news breaks).
