RuriDragon TV anime adaptation produced by KyoAni

It has been revealed that Masaoki Mato's manga "RuriDragon," which is currently being serialized in the digital edition of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be adapted into a TV anime. Kyoto Animation will produce the anime.

A "mysterious countdown" began on Kyoto Animation's official website on December 26th, and it was announced that the series would be adapted into a TV anime at 7pm on December 28th. A video was also released on YouTube, showing Ruri being tapped on the shoulder and turning around in surprise. According to the video, "the broadcast will be a long way off (sic)," and details about the anime will be announced in the future.

The original author, Shindo, commented, "Thank you for reading RuriDragon again this year. I particularly like Hyouka, a Kyoto Animation work, and the part about the school festival, which is told from multiple perspectives, is the most enjoyable part. I love the whole story of Houtarou tending the store. Even though he's just sitting there!! This manga will be made into an anime by Kyoto Animation."

"RuriDragon" began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in June 2022 after a one-shot was published in "Jump GIGA 2021 WINTER" (published by the same publisher) in December 2020. It has been serialized every other issue in the digital version of "Weekly Shonen Jump" since April 2024. The story depicts the laid-back daily life of Aoki Ruri, a high school student "dragon girl" who wakes up one morning to find horns growing out of her head.
