It has been announced that the anime " My Hero Academia (Hiroaka)" based on the popular manga by Kohei Horikoshi and Marvel Studios' latest work "Captain America: Brave New World" will be teaming up for a special collaboration. A special visual has been released depicting Hawks, who fights using his "quirk" of "Hiroaka" as a weapon, and the new Captain America soaring through the sky on his steel wings. This collaboration was made possible due to the commonality and affinity between "heroes" and "flying through the sky on those wings."
The special visual was drawn by Yoshihiko Umakoshi , the character designer and chief animation director for " My Hero Academia ," who commented, "Thank you for letting me be involved in a Marvel production twice. I was also happy to be able to draw Hawks. I like the Hulk, so I'm also intrigued by the Red Hulk. I'm looking forward to the release. Plus Ultra."
A special collaboration video was also released on YouTube, narrated by popular voice actor Yuichi Nakamura, who was the voice of the original Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Hawks. It shows flashy action scenes using both of their wings, such as Captain America cutting a flying car in half with a single slash, and Hawks descending from the sky at lightning speed and instantly defeating numerous villains.
"Captain America: Brave New World" is a story about a terrorist attack that occurs at an international conference held by U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), which leads to conflicts between countries, including Japan, that escalate to the brink of a world war. Captain America tries to stop the "world from going out of control." The film will be released in Japan and the U.S. on February 14th.
"My Hero Academia" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2014 to 2024. Set in a world where about 80% of the population has supernatural powers and quirks, the story follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become the greatest hero. The comics have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. The eighth season, "FINAL SEASON," which will be the final chapter of the TV anime, will air in the fall of 2025.
