It has been announced that actor and talent Wentz Eiji will be appearing in the drama series "Private Banker" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm). He will appear in the fifth episode, which will be broadcast on February 6th. A scene in the drama's promotional video shows only the mouth of a mysterious man, and it has now been revealed that the man is none other than Wentz himself.
The role of the actor is played by Daisuke Okada, a private banker who has just returned from the US and is said to be a capable banker, who opposes the main character Koichi Anno (Anna Tsuchiya), the eldest daughter of the wealthy Tenmuji family, who is aiming to become the next president of the Tenmuji Aina Group, and has given up on Anno, whom he relied on, and has formed a new alliance with him.
The character is said to be quite eccentric, and Wentz commented, "My co-stars and staff told me that I'm perfect for the role, so I feel really lucky (laughs). It makes me happy, so I'd like to have detailed discussions with the director and create the role."
Regarding co-starring with Karasawa, he said, "I'm turning 40 this year, so I feel a bit embarrassed, but...I've been working with Karasawa since I was a teenager, and part of me wants him to see that and say, 'This is how you've become,' (laughs)." He continued, "I'm happy to have a role that opposes Karasawa, and somewhere inside me there's still that feeling, like when I was a teenager, of wanting to be recognized by Karasawa, so I'm once again happy to be co-starring with an actor who makes me feel that way, and I'm moved to have been able to take part in such a wonderful production."
The drama is an original story that focuses on a private banker, a professional financial adviser who advises the wealthy on how to manage and build their assets. This is a thrilling money suspense drama in which Anno, a skilled private banker with overwhelming financial knowledge and a wide network of contacts, solves various financial problems of the wealthy Tenmuji family. Episodes 1 to 4 are currently available for free on TVer.
