The 81st episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi " starring Kanna Hashimoto was broadcast on January 27th, and viewers were drawn to the scene in which "Nabe-san" Takao (Naoto Ogata) reveals his painful inner thoughts.
In episode 81, Ayumi ( Riisa Naka), who visited Takao's home and store, found him groaning and collapsed. Takao had fallen down the stairs and suffered a concussion, and was taken to the hospital. Even after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake 17 years ago, Takao had not repaired his home, and a board in the stairs came loose, causing him to fall.
Masato (Kitamura Yukiya), who rushed to the hospital, suggested to Takao, who had regained consciousness, that they rebuild their house, but Takao refused, saying, "No! If I destroy it, I won't be able to remember anything." When Masato asked, "What?", Takao replied, "It's Maki's voice."
While blaming himself for forgetting the monthly anniversary of his only daughter Maki (Oshima Miyu), who died in the earthquake, Takao confessed, "I'm gradually starting to forget about her." He said that his house is filled with memories of Maki, and with tears in his eyes, he said, "If I destroy that house, Maki will really disappear."
On social media, people were saying things like, "It was heartbreaking," "It was heartbreaking," "I bet he's shocked...," "It was so realistic to hear the voice say he would forget," and "There's no need to feel guilty about forgetting little by little."
