It has been revealed that the TV anime "mono", based on the manga by Afro, known for "Laid-Back Camp", will begin airing in April. Additional cast members have also been announced, including Maki Kawase, who will play the role of Hanako Komada.
Kawase commented, "Hanako seems to be the one who manipulates me, but she also makes jokes and teaches me all kinds of things. She shows a variety of expressions, so at the audition I was able to freely portray the freedom and cheerfulness of Hanako that I imagined. But I remember having a little too much fun and being told, 'It's funny, but a bit too much (laughs). When I'm playing the energetic, smiling Hanako, my own excitement just keeps rising (laughs). The atmosphere on the dubbing set was really comfortable, and spending time with everyone has been what soothes me recently! I'll do my best to convey as much of Hanako and the charm of this work as possible!"
"Mono" is a manga that depicts the daily lives of high school girls in the "Cinephoto Club," a combination of the photography club and the video studies club. It is currently being serialized in "Manga Time Kirara Carat" (Houbunsha).
The anime will be directed by Aike Ryota and produced by Soinet, and will star Kazuki Mikawa as Satsuki Amemiya, Aoi Koga as Ann Kiriyama, Hikaru Tono as Sakurako Shikishima, and Reina Ueda as Haruno Akiyama.
