The drama series " Who saw the peacock dance in the jungle? " starring Suzu Hirose will start on January 24th (TBS, Friday 10pm). Stills from the first episode were released on the 10th.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Rito Asami. It is a suspense story where the "love and destiny" of a parent and child involved in a false accusation case intertwines. The daughter of a former police officer whose father was killed on Christmas Eve night seeks out the truth of the case using a letter he left behind as a clue. The story progresses as two cases, the present and the past, are intricately intertwined.
Hirose will play the main character, Yamashita Komugi, and the cast will include Matsuyama Kenichi as lawyer Matsukaze Yoshiteru, Lily Franky as Komugi's father Yamashita Haruo, and Isomura Hayato as Kamii Takashi, a reporter for the weekly magazine Shukan Jidai.
The released stills include scenes of Komugi and Haruo eating ramen, Komugi and Matsukaze chatting together, as well as the appearance of Endo Rikiro ( Yoshi Sakou Yoshi), who is currently serving time on death row for the Togayama incident 22 years ago.
◇ Synopsis of Episode 1
On Christmas Eve, couples and families come and go, and the town is lively. University student Yamashita Kokoro Mugi is eating ramen with his father, Haruo, at a familiar ramen stand. The family is now just the two of them. "Thank you for coming with us even though it's Christmas," says Haruo with a happy look on his face. Kokoro Mugi feels a little embarrassed, but savors his modest happiness.
However, that night, when Kokoro Mugi returned home from a club drinking party after parting ways with Haruo, he found his house burning and the news of Haruo's death.
Kokoro Mugi is devastated by the loss of his beloved father, but the murderer of Haruo is quickly arrested. The murderer is the son of Endo Rikiro, the murderer of the wealthy family that Haruo arrested 22 years ago.
Kokoro Mugi, who learned for the first time that Haruo was in charge of such a case, visits his usual ramen shop, unable to comprehend the sudden turn of events. When he receives a letter left by Haruo from the owner, Someda (Sakai Toshiya), it contains the names of several people, including Rikiro's son, and a statement that if they are suspected, it is a "false accusation."
