It has been announced that "Gundam Card Game" (Bandai), the much talked about new TCG (trading card game) based on the popular anime "Gundam" series, will be released in three languages - Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese - simultaneously in July.
All four pre-constructed starter decks (1,320 yen each), sleeves (880 yen), deck cases (1,320 yen), and damage counter dice (1,650 yen) will be released on July 12th, and the first booster pack, "Newtype Rising" (220 yen), will be released on July 26th.
It was also announced that there will be a collaboration with "GUNDAM ASSEMBLE" (Bandai Spirits), a completely new miniature game that uses Gunpla (plastic models).
"Gundam Card Game" is a competitive card game in which the series' mobile suits (MS) and pilots battle each other using a deck of 50 cards consisting of unit cards such as MS, pilot cards that pilot the MS, base cards such as battleships, and character command cards. Units can be strengthened by assigning pilots to them, and players aim to win by making full use of link units that are formed in specific combinations. In addition to 1-on-1 battles, players can also enjoy 2-on-2 team battles and Battle Royale, where three or more people fight to determine one winner. The game will be released simultaneously in three languages: Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese, for global expansion.
