The drama "TOKYO MER ~Running Emergency Room~" (TBS), starring actor Ryohei Suzuki, which was broadcast in 2021, will be broadcast in its entirety over three days from 5:00 a.m. on January 2nd to the 4th (excluding some areas).
"TOKYO MER ~Running Emergency Room~" is a full-scale medical drama that depicts a new professional emergency medical team called "TOKYO MER" established by the governor of Tokyo. The serial drama was broadcast in the TBS "Sunday Theater" slot (Sunday 9:00 pm) in July 2021, and became a hot topic, recording an average household viewership rating of 19.5% (Kanto region, Video Research survey) for the final episode.
Due to its popularity, the first movie version was released in April 2023. The story is about TOKYO MER trying to rescue 193 people left behind after an explosion at Yokohama Landmark Tower. The movie also stars Anne and Jesse from SixTONES, and was a huge hit, grossing 4.53 billion yen. In response to the success, a sequel set in the vast ocean that straddles Okinawa and Kagoshima, titled "TOKYO MER: Running Emergency Room - Nankai Mission", will be released on August 1st.
