It has been revealed that a special edition of the NHK Asadora drama "The Tiger and Her Wings" starring Sari Ito will be broadcast on the 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen(General TV and others) on December 31st. "Tora ni Tsubasa Kouhaku Special Edition" is a spin-off drama that tells the story of the end of the year, centering on Torako (played by Ito), a law student.
"The Tiger and Her Wings" is an original story based on the life of Yoshiko Mibuchi (1914-1984), Japan's first female lawyer and later judge. It depicts the heroine and her companions carving out a path in difficult times and rescuing lost children and cornered women.
This is the first time in 28 years since "Himawari" in the first half of 1996 that a Asadora will have a "legal" story. The script is written by Yoshida Erika, who is popularly known as "Cherry Magic" and has worked on such dramas as "It Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! " (TV Tokyo) and "Futari wa Koisenu" (NHK). The theme song is "Sayonara Mata Itsuka!" written by singer Yonezu Kenshi, and the narration is by Machiko Ono, who played the heroine in the Asadora "Carnation" in the second half of 2011, which also attracted attention.
Also appearing alongside Ito in the main supporting cast are Ishida Yuriko, Okabe Takashi, Nakano Taiga, Misato Morita Nozomi, Kamikawa Shusaku, Doi Shiori, Yuki Sakurai, Hiraiwa Kami, Ha Yeon Soo, Junki Tozuka , Tozuka Junki, Matsuyama Kenichi, Kobayashi Kaoru, Kenichi Takito Masaki Okada , Takito Kenichi, and Sawamura Ikki.
The 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will be broadcast on December 31st from 7:20pm to 11:45pm (with some news breaks). Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Kanna Hashimoto, Sari Ito, and announcer Naoko Suzuki will be the hosts.
