The visuals for the second season of the TV anime " Blue Box ," based on the popular manga by Kouji Miura , have been released. The story is said to move forward significantly in the second season, including changes in the characters' hearts. The visuals feature Chinatsu Kano, Hina Chono, Taiki Inomata, and a new character, Moriya Ayame, a classmate of Daiki's. It was also announced that voice actress Kana Ichinose will play Moriya Ayame. The second season will air on TBS from January 2, 2025.
Ichinose commented, "Shobu-chan seems a little mature for a high school student, but she is a girl with a life-sized cuteness and straightforwardness, and her expressions change all the time, so it was a lot of fun playing her. Shobu-chan's appearance will bring about changes in the story again. I hope you will enjoy future episodes of ' Blue Box'. Thank you very much."
A promotional video was also released, depicting Chinatsu running towards the Inter-High School Championships, and Daiki and the others devoting themselves to club activities in order to reach even greater heights. The artists who will be singing the theme songs for the second season were also announced, with the band "Macaroni Enpitsu" singing the opening theme "Raraba" and singer-songwriter TOMOO singing the ending theme "Contrast."
Hattori from Macaroni Enpitsu commented, "I created the song 'Naraba' while running through my youth together with Chinatsu, Taiki, and Chono. I hope you look forward to it along with the anime!"
TOMOO said, "I wrote this song while being touched by the wonderful people in ' Blue Box' and their fresh emotional movements, and at times remembering how I felt when I was the same age. For example, the love stories aren't just about excitement or sadness...the characters have respect for each other, and I thought the moments when they support each other were really precious, so I wrote the song hoping to capture those aspects as well."
The original work began serialization in April 2021 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). Set at Sakae High School, a powerhouse of sports from junior high to high school, the story is about a youthful club love story in which Inomata Daiki, a member of the boys' badminton club, falls in love with Taiki Inomata Chinatsu Kano , a senior in the girls' basketball club. The anime stars Shoya Chiba Shoya as Taiki Inomata and Reina Ueda , as well as Akari Kito, Chiaki Kobayashi Chiaki, and Yuma Uchida. It is produced by Telecom Animation Film. It airs every Thursday at 11:56 pm on the TBS network.
