Ikkokudo, a 61-year-old ventriloquist, will appear on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), broadcasting at 1 pm on November 1st. Before becoming a ventriloquist, Ikkokudo worked as an impersonator and studied acting in a theater company. He will perform a routine that combines singing, impersonation and ventriloquism.
Ikkokudo previously said that he did not want to teach ventriloquism to others, but recently he has been holding "classes" on video distribution sites. Kuroyanagi says that his thorough and careful instruction has opened her eyes to ventriloquism. He has performed many ventriloquism shows not only in Japan but also overseas. This time, he will also show his material in English in the studio.
Last year, his first grandchild was born. His only daughter, who married a Cambodian, returned to Japan to give birth, and he will talk to Kuroyanagi about the joys of spending time with her grandchild.
