It has been announced that the theatrical anime film "Look Back" (directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama), based on a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, known for "Chainsaw Man" and other works, has exceeded 2 billion yen in box office revenue in its 15th week of release. It has been a huge hit, attracting over 1.17 million viewers. The film was released in 119 theaters on June 28th, and ranked first in the box office revenue rankings for the first week of release. Despite not being a large-scale screening, word of mouth spread, and the box office revenue exceeded 1 billion yen in the third week of release, and it has continued to have an unusually long run. It has also been released in over 20 countries and regions, and overseas it has made 740 million yen in box office revenue and attracted over 700,000 viewers.

It was also announced that commentary audio screenings will be held from October 11th. Director Oshiyama and animator Toshiyuki Inoue, who was in charge of the "original animation", will be in charge of the audio commentary, talking about the attention to detail in the video. The audio commentary can be enjoyed by using the smartphone app "HELLO! MOVIE".

"Look Back" was released in July 2021 on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump + (Plus)" and recorded more than 2.5 million views on the first day. It was selected as the No. 1 in the men's edition of "This Manga is Amazing! 2022" and was also nominated for the "Manga Taisho 2022". The story is about two girls who are connected by their single-minded passion for manga, but an event occurs that shatters everything... Fujino, a fourth-grade elementary school student who serializes a four-panel manga in the student newspaper, is praised by her classmates, but her teacher tells her that "I want to publish the four-panel manga of Kyomoto, a classmate who does not go to school." The anime will be directed by Oshiyama, who has been involved as a key staff member in "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance," "The Secret World of Arrietty," and "The Wind Rises," and will also be in charge of the script and character design. Studio Dorian, headed by Oshiyama, will produce the anime. It has also become a hot topic that Kawai Yumi plays Fujino and Yoshida Mizuki plays Kyomoto.
